Product Description:
The ZK1090-3191-0040 is a motor cable manufactured by Beckhoff and supplied in the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as a combined power and Ethernet line for servo axes, allowing a single routed cable to carry drive signals and industrial communication between the control cabinet and the field device. By integrating signal pairs and shielding in one assembly, the cable reduces installation space while maintaining deterministic data flow in automation cells.
The cable has a rated voltage of 30 V, which matches the extra-low-voltage range typically used for encoder or sensor circuits inside drive systems. Signal quality along the run is supported by a characteristic impedance of 100 Ω, which matches differential transmitters and helps minimize reflections at high frequencies. The data conductors meet Cat.5 Ethernet performance, so 100 Mbit/s transmissions can reach the drive reliably. A fixed length of 4.00 m simplifies cabinet layout and avoids excess slack in moving cable paths. Loop resistance is limited to 250 Ω/km, so voltage drop over four meters remains very low compared with normal transceiver thresholds.
The PUR jacket supports drag-chain motion for up to 20 million bending cycles, and the cable should only be flexed to the specified minimum bend radius of 20 times the cable diameter. Each signal core uses 19 strands of 0.1 mm tinned copper in a 1 × 4 × 0.14 mm² (AWG26) layout, which supports flexibility and corrosion resistance. The assembly connects an M8 male 4-pin A-coded connector on the motor side to an RJ45 male 8-pin plug on the controller side, so no field termination is required. Mutual capacitance remains at 51 pF/m at 1 kHz, which helps preserve clean signal edges, while the outer diameter of 5.4 mm supports routing in compact cable trays. A braid and foil provide 90 % shield coverage to reduce electromagnetic interference on the communication conductors.
