The ZK1090-3191-0010 EtherCAT cable by Beckhoff is designed for high performance data transmission in industrial automation applications. It is built for reliable communication and meets stringent electrical and mechanical standards.

This ZK1090 series EtherCAT cable features a rated voltage of 30 V with a characteristic impedance of 100 ohms ± 15 ohms at 100 MHz. Its unbalanced capacitance to ground is 3400 pF/km and mutual capacitance is rated at 51 pF/m at 1 kHz. The cable’s loop resistance is 250 ohms/km and the insulation resistance is rated at ≥150 MΩ/km. The shielding attenuation is ≥ 43 dB while the cable is constructed with a star quad structure and the outer cable diameter measures 5.4 mm ± 0.3 mm. The cable features connectors at both ends. Head A is an M8 plug rated at 63 V and 4 A. It is A-coded and can handle ≥ 100 mating cycles. Head B is an RJ45 plug rated at 125 V and 1 A with a durability of ≥ 750 mating cycles. Both heads are shielded for added protection against electromagnetic interference and the recommended torque for the nut on Head A is 0.4 Nm.

The ZK1090 series EtherCAT cable has a conductor cross section of 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² (AWG26) and uses tinned copper for the conductor material. It is shielded with a tinned copper braid that provides 90 % optical coverage. The cable is suitable for drag-chain applications with a maximum acceleration of 10 m/s² and a maximum speed of 15 m/s. The cable can endure up to 20 million cycles under specific conditions and has a minimal bending radius of 20 times the outer diameter for movement and four times for fixed installation.
