Product Description:
The ZK1090-3161-1050 is a preassembled motor cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It links servo drives to decentralized motors, carrying power and feedback signals in automated machinery where precise routing and secure sealing are required. The assembly is suited for decentralized servo layouts in which cabling must remain organized across moving machine sections. By combining standardized industrial connectors with a flexible polyurethane jacket, the cable provides a ready-to-connect link that simplifies installation in conveyor modules, pick-and-place axes, and other motion-control assemblies.
Inside, a star-quad arrangement groups four conductors with a cross-section of 1 × 4 × 0.34 mm² AWG22, a geometry that balances signal symmetry with a compact diameter for routed cable runs. The tinned copper strands follow a 7 × 0.25 mm build, giving low resistance while preserving flexibility over the full 5.00 m length during repeated movement. Continuous-motion applications are supported by a life rating of 3 million drag-chain cycles, and mechanical stress is further reduced by the PUR jacket. The cable has a 125 V operating limit and a higher 600 V insulation level for transient faults. An Al-clad foil + tinned copper braid shield encloses the core to suppress EMI, and the overall assembly meets IP65/67 when the connectors are fully tightened.
Connection hardware is factory installed to eliminate wiring errors and reduce field assembly work. The drive side terminates in an M8 male straight, 4-pin A-coded plug whose contacts are rated for 50 V AC/60 V DC, whereas the motor side uses an M12 male straight, 4-pin D-coded plug rated for 160 V. Both ends can pass up to 4 A at 40 °C, matching small servo actuators and compact feedback circuits. PUR sheathing resists oils and welding sparks, and the shield is bonded to the connector shells to maintain low-impedance grounding during operation. This connection layout helps preserve signal quality where motors and drives are linked through short, frequently moved cable runs.
