Product Description:
The ZK1090-3161-0100 is a motor feedback cable assembled by Beckhoff for use within the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed as a pre-terminated link between servo drives and encoders, it carries power and differential signals across moving machine elements without manual field wiring. It is intended for Beckhoff servo systems and simplifies installation in gantries, pick-and-place axes, and other automation modules that require synchronized motion data and a low-noise voltage supply.
Electrically, the core set employs a 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² (AWG26) conductor group arranged in a Star quad geometry to minimize crosstalk between the complementary pairs. Each strand is built from 19 wires with a diameter of 0.1 mm, creating a flexible braid that withstands repeated torsion while preserving the low DC loop resistance of 250 Ω/km. The conductors are made of Tinned copper, so oxidation is slowed and stable contact resistance is maintained over the cable’s service life. The overall sheath has a nominal insulation rating of 30 V, which supports typical encoder supply levels. The braided shield covers 90% of the surface, and the propagation delay remains at 5.55 ns/m, allowing consistent signal timing on long machine axes.
The molded terminations create quick-release connections. On the drive side, the cable is fitted with a M8 plug, straight, male, 4-pin, A-coded that can carry 4 A at 40 °C and up to 50 V AC or 60 V DC. The motor side uses a M12 plug, straight, male, 4-pin, D-coded, rated for the same 4 A at 40 °C but insulated for 160 V so differential transmission lines remain within range. A total length of 10.00 m is supplied from the factory, giving ample routing freedom inside energy chains. Mechanical durability is rated for 20 million flex cycles, so the assembly can operate in continuous-motion applications without conductor fatigue or shield breakage.
