Product Description:
The ZK1090-3131-3250 is a factory-terminated motor connection cable manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as the interface between IPC-based drives and field-mounted servo motors, transmitting differential encoder data and low-voltage supply lines in one shielded assembly. By combining signal integrity, mechanical sealing, and a predefined length, the cable supports clean routing in high-throughput assembly cells and pick-and-place gantries.
This variant is classified as Cat.5, so its twisted-pair geometry supports 100 Mb/s signaling across the factory floor. The fixed cable length of 25.00 m eliminates on-site cutting and keeps attenuation predictable during setup and operation. A molded PVC jacket together with overmolded M8 connectors provides a continuous seal that achieves a protection rating of IP65/67, permitting routing through washdown areas. Electrical loss is limited by a loop resistance of 280 Ω/km, which helps keep voltage drop within normal servo-drive tolerances over the full run. For deterministic bus architectures, the signal running time of 5.3 ns/m allows accurate propagation-delay compensation inside the motion controller.
Internally, the four conductors use a Star Quad arrangement that minimizes crosstalk between differential pairs and helps preserve characteristic impedance when the cable bends. Each core is insulated with PE, and the overall braid plus aluminum-foil shielding protects against high-frequency interference near switching inverters. The strands are made of Bare Copper, which supports low DC resistance and stable thermal behavior under continuous load. The assembly is rated for 50 V AC/60 V DC and can carry 4 A at 40°C to supply sensors, holding brakes, or status LEDs mounted on the motor housing. A screw-type locking system at both M8 ends maintains vibration-resistant contact, while the PVC jacket resists common lubricants used in automated machining centers.
