Product Description:
The ZK1090-3131-3100 cable is produced by Beckhoff as part of the ZK Motor Cables series. It is a pre-assembled motor lead intended to carry low-voltage supply and feedback signals between servo drives and compact motors in automated machinery. By using factory-terminated connectors, the cable simplifies field wiring and maintains consistent electrical characteristics for reliable motion control. Its design targets tight control-cabinet layouts and dynamic cable tracks common in packaging, material-handling, and assembly stations. The compact build also helps with routing in spaces where larger cable assemblies would be harder to manage.
The cable measures 10.00 m from plug to plug, giving reach for medium-size machines without excess slack. A differential pair impedance of 100 ohms ±5 ohms aligns with common servo encoder interfaces and limits reflection on fast edges. The twisted quad inside has a cross-section of 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² (AWG26), which keeps the bundle flexible while supporting signal transmission. Dielectric insulation withstands 2000 V, guarding the conductors against breakdown during hipot tests. The molded PVC jacket adds abrasion resistance, and the overall diameter of 4.9 mm ±0.2 mm supports tight bend radii in drag chains. Rated line current is 4 A, which is suitable for small motor brake or auxiliary power feeds. Shielding around the pair suppresses EMI, and an A-coded key prevents mismating of the 4-pin interface. Loop resistance is 280 ohms/km and mutual capacitance is 52 nF/km, which helps limit resistive loss and stored charge along the span.
Signal propagation is 5.3 ns/m, so delay remains low across the full cable length. The assembly carries up to 50 V AC/60 V DC across its contacts and must be fastened with 0.4 Nm at the coupling nuts to maintain sealing. Both ends terminate in a compact M8 plug to M8 plug arrangement that eliminates field crimping. This ready-made connector layout also supports faster installation and a cleaner cable path inside compact machine sections.
