Product Description:
The ZK1090-3131-1100 is a pre-assembled motor connection cable produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It routes encoder or sensor feedback between decentralized servo drives and field I/O in industrial automation systems. With fixed electrical and mechanical characteristics, the cable maintains predictable transmission quality and supports machinery exposed to dust, cutting fluids, or washdown. This type of assembly is used where compact connectors and consistent feedback links are needed between moving machine sections and fixed control hardware. Its plug-and-play format eliminates onsite crimping and reduces field wiring work on crowded production lines.
The assembly provides a reach of 10.00 m, enough for cabinet-to-axis runs inside large machines. At the device end, it terminates in a compact M8 circular plug with a male, 4-pin, A-coded interface for keyed mating. The four conductors share a cross-section of 1 × 4 × 0.34 mm² (AWG22) and are built from a 7 × 0.25 mm strand bundle. This geometry carries up to 4 A at 40 °C without excess heating, while insulation withstands line potentials of 50 V AC / 60 V DC typical for sensor circuits. When the threaded coupling is fully engaged, the interface achieves a sealing class of IP65/67, so sprayed water or fine dust cannot enter.
The signal pair maintains a differential impedance of 100 Ω ±15 Ω (100 MHz), matching common servo feedback receivers and limiting reflections. Propagation delay is only 5.3 ns/m, so signal travel remains short across the cable length. An overall diameter of 6.5 mm ± 0.2 mm lets the cable fit narrow drag-chain channels, and the outer sheath is a PUR compound that resists oil, abrasion, and weld spatter. Mutual capacitance is 52 nF/km at 1 kHz, which helps keep crosstalk low in dense harnesses. Its slim jacket profile also leaves more room for separation from power conductors inside shared cable tracks.
