Product Description:
The ZK1090-3131-0005 cable assembly is produced by Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. Designed for tight spaces inside machines, it serves as a short motor tail that links servomotors to decentralized drives or terminal modules, carrying supply voltage and brake energy through a single shielded bundle. The assembly uses an A-coded 4-pin male plug molded into an M8 shell, giving a keyed connection that resists vibration while the continuous shield helps preserve signal integrity in electrically noisy industrial environments. Its short format also helps reduce unused cable loops near moving axes and keeps routing compact where the drive or terminal module is mounted close to the motor.
This lead is 0.50 m long, which suits panel-to-motor jumpers where excess slack is undesirable. It can conduct up to 4 A per core at system levels not exceeding 50 V AC/60 V DC, so the assembly stays within safe extra-low-voltage limits. Transmission quality is supported by the differential pair’s characteristic impedance of 100 Ω and a mutual capacitance of 51 pF/m, which suits fast encoder channels. Overall shield coverage reaches 90 %, and together with the tinned-copper conductors it helps reduce high-frequency interference. The PUR jacket resists oil, and the specified nut torque of 0.4 Nm helps prevent connector damage when the coupling nut is tightened.
A conductor cross-section of 1 × 4 × 0.14 mm² (AWG26) keeps the cable flexible while still supporting the intended current load. The cable is rated for 20 million flex cycles in continuous-motion drag-chain use, which supports repeated movement in compact automation systems. Its M8 installation size keeps the connector footprint small on motor housings, and the molded plug uses international pin coding to help avoid mis-mating. The outer sheath is made of PUR (polyurethane), which resists abrasion and coolant exposure while helping the cable remain durable during repeated motion.
