Product Description:
The ZK1090-3131-0001 is a prefabricated motor feedback cable from Beckhoff within the ZK Motor Cables series. It serves as the short, shielded link between a servo motor and its drive controller, routing encoder signals and low-voltage power through a single assembly to simplify cabinet wiring. This arrangement reduces separate cable runs between components and keeps connections compact in automated packaging stations and pick-and-place cells where electromagnetic compatibility and orderly routing are important. The short assembly length also suits tightly packed layouts where excess cable slack can obstruct airflow or interfere with nearby connectors.
Signal integrity is supported by a conductor cross-section of 1 x 4 x 0.14 mm² (AWG26), which groups four conductors in a balanced configuration. The individual strands follow a 19 × 0.1 mm construction made of tinned copper for flexibility and corrosion resistance. The cable uses a Star Quad geometry, giving uniform impedance and lowering crosstalk between differential channels. An overall screen with 90 % coverage blocks external fields, and a loop resistance of 250 Ω/km helps limit voltage drop over longer runs. Mutual capacitance is limited to 51 pF/m at 1 kHz, so phase error remains low when fast encoder pulses are present. These electrical features help the cable maintain stable signal transmission near switching power electronics.
The factory-fitted M8 connector has four contact positions and is tightened to 0.4 Nm, which helps prevent loosening under machine vibration. At only 0.13 m in length, the assembly is intended for drive-to-terminal connections inside a control panel, and current loading reaches 4 A at 40 °C. The insulation system supports circuit potentials up to 50 V AC / 60 V DC, and the cable has a dielectric strength of 700 V. A PUR outer jacket resists oils and chain movement, while a signal running time of 5.55 ns/m helps keep propagation delay low in high-speed EtherCAT servo networks. The short lead is useful where the connection is made directly at adjacent terminals or interface modules.
