The ZK1090-3100-0050 motor cable is produced by Beckhoff for the ZK Motor Cables series. This pre-assembled lead links compact drives or actuators to panel-mounted controllers, supplying motor power and feedback signals in a single routed bundle. Within industrial automation cells, the part streamlines wiring, reduces installation time, and supports dynamic machine axes that cycle continuously. Using one cable for both functions helps reduce separate harness runs along moving machine members. This arrangement can simplify routing where space around compact axes is limited.
With a factory-specified length of 5.00 m, the cable spans between moving axes and stationary cabinets without splicing. Its Star quad core layout groups four conductors into tightly twisted pairs that limit crosstalk for encoder pulses traveling through the shared sheath. Each core uses tinned copper strands that improve solderability and resist corrosion. A straight, M8 plug hosts a male contact set and employs a screw locking mechanism so vibration cannot loosen the interface. The connector carries up to 4 A at 40 °C, suiting many 24 V auxiliary drive circuits. A PUR (polyurethane) outer jacket provides abrasion resistance and oil tolerance while maintaining flexibility. Full-coverage foil braid shielding surrounds the Ethernet-grade 1 × 4 × 0.14 mm² (AWG26) element, and the cable is supplied with an open end for field-side termination through glands or terminal blocks.

Installation torque is limited to 0.4 Nm, which is enough to secure the threaded collar without damaging the plastic ferrule. Because the cable is drag-chain suitable, its PUR sheath and fine-strand conductors can withstand repeated flexing along energy chains on fast-moving axes. The screw-coupled, shielded, male termination at one end and the prepared open conductors at the other allow direct routing to terminal blocks or cable glands.
