Product Description:
The PS2001-4810-0000 is a DIN-rail switching power supply produced by Beckhoff for the PS Power Supplies series. Installed in control panels, it changes industrial AC mains into tightly regulated DC that feeds PLC CPUs, remote terminals, and motion amplifiers used throughout automated plants. The unit’s role is to ensure that every downstream circuit receives constant voltage independent of load transients, thereby maintaining deterministic task execution and preventing unexpected downtime in conveyor, packaging, and metalworking cells while occupying only a narrow rail segment.
At its nominal operating point, the supply furnishes 48 V at 10 A, equivalent to 480 W of continuous power for actuators or back-plane rails. When powered from 230 VAC, it reaches an efficiency of 96.3 %; only 18.4 W is released as heat through the slotted metal housing. A power-factor-correction stage elevates the line factor to 0.98, so the input draws just 2.23 A and limits harmonics. The gray enclosure, measuring 48 × 124 × 127 mm, weighs 830 g and accepts stranded or solid conductors up to 4 mm² that are secured with 1 Nm of terminal torque. Internal protection suppresses overshoot so that fault conditions cannot push the output beyond 60 V DC.
During short mains interruptions, the bulk capacitors hold the bus within tolerance for 32 ms, giving controllers time to ride through contactor switching events. The device remains functional in ambient temperatures up to 70 °C and can be installed at elevations reaching 5000 m without derating. The housing has an IP20 protection class, which means fingers are shielded from live parts while ventilation openings stay unobstructed. Thermal management and over-voltage limiting together extend component life under continuous industrial duty.
