Product Description:
Beckhoff manufactures the LC8301 QSM Coupler for industrial automation tasks. With EtherCAT, the protocol links I/O systems that are spread out to the controllers. The module is designed to operate with a 24 V DC nominal voltage supply. With different terminals attached, the current consumption is usually lower than 500 mA.
The Input/output connections of the LC8301 QSM coupler feature spring-loaded terminals, so you can connect them easily. There are signal and power status LEDs on the LC8301. This unit is about 100 mm wide by 35 mm tall by 70 mm thick. It is simply prepared for mounting on DIN rails in control cabinets. With the LC8301, you set the address using rotary coding switches. Standard EtherCAT slave device protocol profiles are supported. The suitable working temperature is 0 °C to 55 °C for the standard device. Data can be safely maintained between -25 °C and +85 °C. It operates where the relative humidity is between 5% and 95%. Vibration resistance is rated for 5 Hz–8.4 Hz at an amplitude of 3.5 mm and 8.4 Hz–150 Hz at 1 g. IEC 60068-2-27 reports that this gadget is shock resistant at 15 g for 11 ms.
The LC8301 QSM coupler can work up to 2000 meters above sea level. The rooms in the refugee shelters give little insulation and have a pollution level of 2. According to IP20, the protection class suits enclosure components. This module of the coupler does not feature an encoder interface. LED indicators help you detect communication errors on the drone. EtherCAT diagnostics are performed due to real-time identification that is part of the module. This product is in line with RoHS Directive and CE marking standards.
Frequently Asked Questions about LC8301:
Q: How does the LC8301's Quick-Start Module (QSM) enhance commissioning speed?
A: The QSM feature in the LC8301 minimizes configuration time by auto-recognizing EtherCAT devices. This enables faster deployment and reduces downtime in automation setups.
Q: Why are spring-loaded terminals used in the LC8301 module?
A: Spring-loaded terminals provide secure, tool-free wiring, ideal for quick maintenance. They also ensure consistent electrical contact in environments with vibration or temperature changes.
Q: How does the RJ45 interface support real-time data transfer in the LC8301?
A: The integrated RJ45 port supports high-speed EtherCAT communication, ensuring real-time synchronization. This improves performance in time-critical control systems.
Q: What role do rotary coding switches play in the Beckhoff LC8301?
A: Rotary coding switches in the LC8301 simplify address assignment on the EtherCAT network. This allows for quick reconfiguration without software changes.
Q: Why is IP20 protection class suitable for the LC8301?
A: The IP20 rating ensures protection against solid objects greater than 12.5 mm. It's appropriate for installation inside control cabinets where no water ingress is expected. (LC8301)
