The Beckhoff LC5100-0100 serves as a versatile and powerful bus coupler that finds its application in modular control systems.
The LC Bus Coupler model from Beckhoff enhances advanced digital I/O expansion features for applications with dense signal requirements and dependable communication to decentralized control systems. The LC5100-0100 enables standard bus terminal support up to 64 units, but customers can reach 255 terminals through expansion with K-bus extension modules KL9020 and KL9050. The device operates with a remarkable capacity to process 960 digital signals, making it an optimal solution for diverse complex installation needs. Digital devices require only setup because this device lacks analog peripheral signal capabilities. The configuration process for this coupler takes place through Beckhoff’s KS2000 software as well as controller-based connection options, which provide runtime-sensitive setup options. This CANopen network device includes five Process Data Objects (PDOs) for Received (Rx) data and five for Transmitted (Tx) data, which ensures reliable fieldbus communication.
This power supply requires a 24 VDC voltage, which can tolerate slight variations between -15% and +20% of the stated value. When functioning, the coupler draws a maximum of 200 mA while its starting current surpasses the continuous current by 2.5 times. The K-bus receives a maximum power of 500 mA due to the power supply function. The power contact voltage reaches values of up to 24 VDC. This industrial-grade power supply device holds an IP20 rating and functions effectively within ambient temperatures ranging between 0°C and +55°C. It also maintains storage stability between -25°C and +85°C.
