Product Description:
The model KS3204 is a 4 Channel Analog Input Bus Terminal designed for precise temperature measurement using RTD sensors. It supports direct sensor connection via 2 wire technology and is compatible with various resistance based temperature sensors.
The KS3204 bus terminal integrates seamlessly into automation systems through the K bus interface. This ensures efficient data transfer and configuration. It delivers accurate and stable temperature readings in real time industrial environments with 16 bit resolution. The model supports Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100, Ni120 and Ni1000 RTD sensors. It also allows resistance measurements ranging from 10 ohms to 1.2/5 kΩ. It measures temperatures from – 200 °C to + 850 °C for platinum sensors and – 60 °C to + 250 °C for nickel sensors. Conversion time of the terminal is approximately 250 ms that provides timely updates of measurement data. The resolution is 0.1 °C per digit. This offers detailed output for temperature sensitive processes. Measuring current is typically 0.5 mA which minimizes sensor self heating and ensures accuracy.
The Beckhoff KS3204 bus terminal includes open circuit recognition that alerts users to faults such as broken wires. Error LEDs on the device indicate sensor failures for easy troubleshooting. The electrical isolation of 500 V between K bus and signal voltage enhances operational safety. Communication with the control system uses 4 × 16 bit data for input with optional 4 × 8 bit control or status information. The device draws a typical current of 60 mA from the K bus. The KS series bus terminal provides stable and efficient performance in compact installations. Its total weight is approximately 70 grams. It supports temperature linearization across the full range using onboard microprocessor capabilities.
