The KS2521 Input Module can process up to 24 bits of resolution in total which allows for more precise or complex control signals. The module can interface with resistive loads and signal types that include optocouplers or differential signals which enables flexible compatibility with a range of industrial sensors and devices. The module draws typically 50 mA and maximum 120 mA from the internal system bus. It can be stored in environments with -25°C ... + 85°C temperature ranges without damage which makes it durable for industrial logistics and spare part storage. It provides two input channels which are typically used for digital signals. When sending data to actuators or other devices, the module transmits 16 bits of functional data and 8 bits of control information. The module each output can handle 50 mA of maximum current which is suitable for low power signaling and its RS485 compliance ensures reliable differential communication over long distances.
The KS2521 input module can handle 100 Hz ... 500 kHz frequency range for signal output while the default is 50 kHz which is suitable for most standard applications. The output signal maintains a 50% duty cycle which means it is on and off for equal durations in a full cycle. Between the internal control bus and field connections there is isolation up to 500 V which protects the system from electrical noise and voltage surges. After each internal bus cycle, the module waits 0.6 ms before the next output which ensures safe signal timing and avoids data collisions.
