Product Description:
In the KL series, the Beckhoff KL9309 serves as a passive Bus Terminal converter that allows the KL85xx manual operating modules to be connected to automation systems.
The module provides reliable power for connecting manual control components by operating at 24 V DC with a tolerance of -15% to +20%. Its four power contacts support a 24 V DC power supply alongside a 10 A current capacity, which provides enough room to power numerous modules. The module possesses essential features that support the integration of KL85xx manual operating modules. Through 16 terminal points, this device links up with all manual operating modules to transmit power as their input/output connection point. Each manual control module gets power through the two 24 V DC and two 0 V DC contacts that exist on the 20-pin connector. The system configuration provides dependable power transfer while improving distributed control system wiring simplification. The interface happens through locking 20-pin contact strips using ZK8500-8282-70x0 cables with available link options of 3 to 5 meters. The physical K-bus signal transmission capability exists on the KL9309, but this passive component lacks the ability for the bus controller to detect it or assign an address to it.
The device functions as an efficient non-intrusive solution to introduce manual interfaces through the main automation bus structure without altering it. The KL9309 satisfies the vibration and shock criteria specified in EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 and is made to withstand industrial environments. In terms of immunity and emissions performance, the device satisfies the criteria of EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. The IP20 classification of this equipment allows it to work in a variety of installation orientations. The device operates within temperatures between -25 to +85°C and weighs approximately 85 grams while maintaining its operational durability in control cabinets.
Frequently Asked Questions about KL9309:
Q: What is the main function of the KL9309 in automation systems?
A: The KL9309 serves as a passive adaptor for connecting KL85xx manual operating modules to the main control system, providing power and signal interface without being addressable by the bus controller.
Q: How many power contacts does the KL9309 support and what is their capacity?
A: It features four power contacts that support a 24 VDC power supply with a current capacity of up to 10 A, allowing connection of multiple manual modules.
Q: Does the KL9309 support K-bus communication?
A: Yes, it includes a physical K-bus transmission, but as a passive device, it does not support address assignment or recognition by the bus controller.
Q: How does the KL9309 connect with manual operating modules?
A: It uses a 20-pin contact strip with locking connectors and ZK8500-8282-70x0 cables (3 to 5 meters) to link to KL85xx modules, simplifying distributed control wiring.
Q: What are the environmental and compliance specifications of the KL9309?
A: It operates from -25 to +85°C, complies with EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4, and meets vibration and shock resistance per EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27.
