Product Description:
The KL9260 is a power supply and diagnostic terminal produced by Beckhoff for the KL Analog Input Modules series. Installed alongside analog or digital terminals, the unit routes an external mains source to the system backplane so that downstream terminals can share the same feed. It also places status information into the controller process image, enabling the PLC to detect an overcurrent condition or loss of power on that branch. By combining power distribution and status signaling in one compact housing, the component simplifies cabinet layouts and reduces the need for separate wiring for auxiliary fuses or indicator lamps.
The supply side accepts a nominal line voltage of 120/230 V AC, which is internally routed to spring contacts for fast and secure wiring. The outgoing circuit has a continuous current-carrying capacity of up to 10 A. A time-lag fuse rated at 6.3 A protects the connected circuit by interrupting the current when a fault occurs. Communication with the host coupler consumes only 10 mA from the K-bus, so the terminal places a minimal burden on the power budget of large node segments. The device occupies 2 bits in the process image; one bit indicates the power status, while the other reports a tripped fuse. These Boolean signals can be evaluated directly through ladder logic or function blocks for automated monitoring.
The housing has a width of just 12 mm, allowing high-density placement when several feeder points are required on the same rail. The underside includes one additional power contact, allowing adjacent terminals to draw from the distributed supply without extra jumpers. A red fault LED on the front panel illuminates after the fuse trips, providing a clear visual indication of an interrupted circuit. A green power LED remains illuminated during normal operation to confirm that incoming power is available. The terminal does not include a shield connection because it distributes mains power rather than handling low-level sensor signals. Its narrow housing preserves rail space while the process-image data and front indicators provide two separate methods for identifying power and fuse conditions.
