Product Description:
The KL9060 power feed terminal is produced by Beckhoff and belongs to the KL Analog Input Modules series. In a typical control cabinet, it sits between active analog terminals and subsequent bus extensions. It occupies a single slot on a standard DIN rail and introduces external voltage to both the K-bus and the power contacts of a modular I/O station. By segmenting the internal backplane and injecting a fresh supply, the unit keeps downstream analog terminals powered and connected to the bus. This arrangement supports continuous data acquisition and control in industrial automation systems without requiring a separate supply connection for every downstream terminal.
The terminal accepts a K-bus supply of 5 VDC, and its internal conductors can furnish up to 2000 mA to the logic electronics on the rail. Separately, the power contacts route machine voltage at 24 VDC with a continuous current limit of 1400 mA, allowing sensors and actuators to draw field power from the same segment without overloading it. The module is designed for a mounting rail width of 35 mm, which supports installation in compact control enclosures. Because the bus power remains fixed at the logic rail voltage, the controller can account for load changes throughout the terminal segment. Physical separation between the logic and field lines also helps reduce electrical crosstalk. Individual sections can be energized or de-energized while the remainder of the bus stays operational, simplifying isolation during setup or maintenance.
Up to 10 power terminals may be positioned after the feed before voltage drop becomes critical, providing a predictable branch length for the connected equipment. The housing has an IP20 rating, so it protects against accidental finger contact with live parts while permitting airflow for heat dissipation. Operation is permitted at relative humidity levels reaching 95%, provided condensation is avoided inside the enclosure. The terminal supports a variable installation position, allowing it to be mounted in the orientation that best accommodates cable routing and access within the control cabinet.
