The KL6581 Terminal achieves both compact design and reliable operation performance. This module belongs to the KL Analog Input Modules series and it is produced by Beckhoff. The module exists for efficient industrial system connections.
The KL6581 terminal uses EnOcean wireless communication technology, which is energy-efficient and typically supports battery-free sensors and switches. It can be connected via 2-wire pairs directly to the EnOcean module which allows up to 8 such modules to be connected in one system. It draws 60 m ampere current from the K bus which helps assess overall power needs. The standard voltage needed to operate the terminal is 24 volts DC, but it tolerates a variation from about 20.4 V to 28.8 V. The terminal can receive different types of EnOcean wireless data formats such as RPS (RORG: F6), 1BS (RORG: D5) and 4BS (RORG: A5) which are suited for different kinds of sensors. For connecting cable the maximum length is 500 meters which means it supports relatively long distance wiring. It has a simplified wiring and power distribution as it gets its operating power directly from the K bus.
The KL6581 terminal has a data transfer rate of 125 kbaud which shows how fast the data is transmitted over the bus. The safe temperature range for operation is 0…55°C which is standard for industrial environments, but may require enclosure in harsher conditions.
