Product Description:
The KL6031 is an Interface Module manufactured by Beckhoff. It can be easily integrated into a larger system or housed in a standard rack unit. It belongs to the KL Analog Input Modules Series.
The KL6031 module has been tested and certified to endure vibration and shock conditions defined by international standards which makes it reliable in industrial environments. The module has a bit distortion of less than 3% which means its accuracy of transmitted bits is high. It draws its operating power from the K-bus which eliminates the need for a separate power connection. This module is lightweight of only 80 grams which is beneficial for ease of installation and minimal load on mounting structures. The dimmer has RS232 cable which can run up to 15 meters which is typical for reliable serial communication without significant signal degradation. It draws approximately 55 milliamps from the K-bus. The module logic low (0) signal in RS232 standard is represented by a voltage between -18 V and -3 V, which complies with the RS232 electrical standard. It is able to process up to 22 bytes of user data plus 2 bytes for control/status in each cycle.
The KL6031 interface module uses the RS232 protocol which is a widely used standard for serial communication. It is designed to resist electromagnetic interference and has isolation between its signal and bus voltage. Its wiring can be plugged in directly which is compatible with KSxxxx series terminals, which simplifies installation and replacement. It is able to function in humid environments (up to 95% RH) as long as there's no condensation which prevents moisture damage. The module supports standard RS232 baud rates with a default of 9600.
