The KL6021-0023 is an analog input terminal produced by Beckhoff for the KL Analog Input Modules series. Installed alongside standard Bus Couplers, the device taps the internal K-Bus power rail and presents one process channel that digitizes external sensor information for a PLC or IPC host. By translating wired field signals into system-level process data, the module supports precise acquisition tasks that are essential for energy management, building automation, and general machine monitoring within distributed control architectures.
The terminal integrates an RS485 interface, enabling serial communication with adapters that forward telegram types RPS, 1BS, and 4BS to the controller. When active, the electronics draw 65 mA from the K-Bus, a low current that lets many terminals share the same power segment without exceeding back-plane limits. The adapter port may be cabled up to 300 m, so sensors can be positioned remotely while maintaining signal integrity over the twisted pair line. An internal regulator provides +5 V to the external adapter, removing the need for a separate supply line.
