Product Description:

The KL6011 is an efficient analog input module for high performance serial data communication in automation systems. The KL6011 is a member of the KL Analog Input Modules series from Beckhoff and is engineered for full duplex data transfer through two channels, i.e. TxD and RxD for bidirectional communication. It is designated for use in distributed control systems where reliable exchange of analog data is necessary.

The KL6011 can be configured for a selectable data transmission rate from 1200 to 19,200 baud, default configuration of 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit and is compatible with a wide range of RS232 / RS422 / RS485 based devices. A robust data buffer setup of 128 bytes for reception and 16 bytes for transmission improves its communication capability by ensuring smooth and stable data flow even during bursts or in high load conditions.

The module is powered from the K-bus with a typical current consumption of 55 mA while still providing consistent performance. With a twisted pair, it can support a maximum of 1000 meters of cable length, which is both flexible and gives you an option to extend the installation in industrial environments. The KL6011 can transmit analog signals with near zero distortion and has a load capacity of under 500 ohms and supports 2 x 20 mA bit transfers.

It is designed to fit into Beckhoff's modular I/O system and the process image includes an 8-bit control/status register and three 8-bit user data segments to allow for smooth integration into control systems. It can operate in a temperature range of 0C to 55C and has an IP20 protection rating suitable for cabinet mounted industrial applications where the environment is controlled. It makes a suitable bridge to serial analog communication for remote actuators, sensors, or other automation hardware, for both performance and reliability in a compact DIN rail mounted form factor.
