The KL5152 Analog Input Module provides secure serial communication via an onboard RS232 interface. Use as a data transfer mechanism from one control system to another, the module provides transfer rates of up to 115.2 kbaud. It provides error-free data transfer as well as transparent serial-to-control and control-to-serial unit communication. The KL5152 provides facilities for a 9-pin D-sub male connector as a means of adding installed RS232-compatible products.
It extracts power directly from the K-bus to reduce wiring complexities and keep installations clean. The module derives approximately 70 mA power from the K-bus and reserves low amounts of power for functions and maintains steady running. The KL5152 can be installed in any direction, presenting installers with extra convenience for mounting. Its extremely light 65-gram weight is easy to mount and maintain. Internal LEDs on the module show data activity and status to enable live observation of communication. Diagnostic indications enable easy troubleshooting and reduce downtime by giving immediate indications of trouble. Rugged module housing protects components within from the outside but is not a barrier to it. It accommodates strong RS232 interfacing to applications where there needs to be solid, consistent serial input. Applied in applications such as coupling bar code scanners, measuring instruments, or other serial peripherals, the KL5152 provides improved performance. Simple to install, cool white LED illumination, high-data-rate communications, it is appropriate for those applications where reliable communications are desired.
Compatible with EtherCAT terminal blocks and sending data on the K-bus without extra wiring, KL5152 is a simple communication adapter for the connection of RS232 serial devices to automation networks.
