Product Description:
The KL5151 analog module by Beckhoff reads position or speed signals from an incremental encoder in automation systems. Beckhoff shows engineering precision by offering well-integrated industrial solutions.
The KL5151 analog module provides an interface for incremental encoders operating at 24 V DC. The input circuit follows EN 61131-2 with type 1 specifications. A logical “0” is detected when the voltage is below 5 V DC while a logical “1” is detected when the voltage exceeds 15 V DC. The typical input current is 5 mA and it offers one channel for connecting incremental encoders. The connection terminals support A, B and C signals along with gate or latch control at 24 V. It supports one sensor input for external triggering or control signals. The operating voltage for connected feedback is 24 V DC. There is no specification listed for the encoder output current. It has a 32-bit binary counter that allows for high-resolution position or speed tracking. It contains a limit frequency of up to 400,000 increments per second when using 4-fold signal evaluation. The built-in quadrature decoder processes signals using 4-fold evaluation to achieve higher quality.
The KL5151 analog module uses a 32-bit zero-pulse latch which aids in providing a stable capture of encoder reference positions. Supported commands for the module include read, set and enable functions which help in allowing flexible working. It carries a mass of just 50 grams which aids in making it suitable for compact installations. The necessary temperature range required for the functioning lies from -25°C to 60°C. It meets international standards and carries CE, CCC, UL, ATEX and IECEx approvals. These markings confirm certification with safety and high standards needed in different regions and industries.
