This arrangement lets the control system read position feedback from a connected SSI device without requiring a separate external interface. Because the encoder interface is built into a Bus Terminal format, it can sit close to related I/O points and help keep cabinet layouts compact. The module occupies only 12 mm of panel width, with a height of 100 mm and a depth of 68 mm, and it clips directly onto a 35 mm DIN rail. Differential signals arrive on the D+, D-, Cl+, and Cl- screw connections located on the front face.
