Product Description:

Beckhoff developed the KL5001 that is a SSI encoder input terminal for industrial automation. It’s made so that absolute encoders with synchronous serial interfaces can be linked straight to control systems. The terminal has a small module that works with a 35 mm DIN rail that meets EN 60715 standards.

The KL5001 SSI encoder input terminal can work in temperatures from -25°C to +60°C and gets its power from power connections that connect to a 24 V DC power source. It takes and sends differential RS422 signals and has encoder connection points marked D+, D-, Cl+, and Cl-. Between the K-bus and the field potential, the connection separates the electricity by 500 V. The serial input width can be set up to 24 bits, and the data flow rate can be changed from 250 kHz to 1 MHz. Without a generator, the current used is usually 20 mA. The terminal meets the EMC standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. The product fulfills requirements for vibration resistance and shock resistance per EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 standards. The terminal can handle up to 95% relative humidity without getting wet. One 32-bit data input and one 8-bit control/status input are part of the process picture bit width.

The KL5001 input terminal can be stored at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. The terminal extends to 100mm in height and reaches 68mm in depth along its 12mm width dimension. The terminal is designed to seamlessly integrate with modular I/O systems to ensure precise encoder input. This terminal is designed to be reliable and satisfies the technical requirements of connecting encoders to automation systems for the duration of its use. The terminal can work consistently and reliably under certain electrical and environmental situations.
