Product Description:
The KL4032-0011 is an analog input module developed by Beckhoff as part of the KL Analog Input Modules series. It serves as a compact node that digitizes two independent voltage channels and places the results on the internal K-Bus for the host PLC. By eliminating local wiring marshaling, the module simplifies distributed measurement tasks on machines and process equipment. The component clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail alongside other terminals.
Each scan transfers its data into the controller as a bus image of 2 x 16-bit, allocating one 16-bit word to each channel. Inside those words, the converter supplies a resolution of 12-bit, allowing 4096 discrete steps across the input span. The electrical span accepted on either input is ±10 V, which matches common process transmitters and provides headroom for positive and negative signals. Converted values use Two's Complement coding without extra sign bits. Both channels share a common ground reference, which simplifies sensor connection but requires a consistent shielding strategy when working with floating sources. The terminal exposes two output words to the K-Bus image, and sensing energy must be supplied externally because no power contacts are present.
Physically, the terminal occupies only 12 mm of rail space, stands 100 mm tall, and measures 68 mm in depth, so high channel density can be achieved inside shallow cabinets. With a protection class of IP20, it must be installed in an enclosure, but the terminal points remain accessible during setup. The 35 mm mounting rail matches EN 60715 profiles used throughout Beckhoff assemblies. Power for the electronics is taken exclusively from the K-Bus, so upstream terminals must provide any sensor excitation required. The module has no address setting, so its logical position is determined only by its slot order, which removes rotary switches and helps keep the housing narrow.
