Wake Industrial LLC is not an authorized distributor of this product.
The Beckhoff KL4012 is part of the KL Analog Input Modules series and features two outputs with a 12-bit resolution. It operates on a 24 V DC power supply, supports a signal current of 0 to 20 mA, and mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail. The module measures 12 x 100 x 68 mm and has an IP20 protection class.
Internal Product Review
The Beckhoff KL4012 is an analog output module with 2 outputs and 12-bit resolution. Stable 0 to 20 mA signal handling and output error below ±0.10% support accurate process control. A 24 V DC supply and IP20 protection make the module a strong choice for clean cabinet installations.

Product Description:
The KL4012 is an I/O terminal manufactured by Beckhoff and supplied in the KL Analog Output Modules series. Its task in an automation node is to translate digital setpoints from the fieldbus coupler into precisely regulated current loops so that actuators or indicating instruments receive the required process values. By snapping the terminal onto the common power rail, a station can be expanded with analog current functionality without changing the main controller program. This makes the module suitable for devices that expect a controlled current signal rather than a switching output.
This terminal provides 2 independent outputs, and each channel sources a programmable current between 0 to 20 mA. The output value is generated with a conversion depth of 12 bit, allowing fine resolution across the full range. Under calibrated conditions, the deviation between commanded and delivered current stays below ±0.10 %, which helps keep loop error within common instrumentation tolerances. Internal electronics draw logic power from the backplane, while the output stage is powered by a separate 24 V DC supply. A maximum loop resistance of 500 Ω must not be exceeded to preserve linearity, and the K-bus process image uses two 16-bit registers so each channel can be addressed directly by the PLC.
The power contacts routed through the terminal are rated for a continuous load of 10 A. The housing measures 12 x 100 x 68 mm and clips onto the standard 35 mm DIN rail used in the system. Its narrow width helps conserve rail space in dense control cabinets. Environmental protection corresponds to IP20, so the terminal must be installed inside a closed control cabinet. Reliable operation is specified for ambient temperatures from -25 to +60 °C, while storage is permitted from −40 °C to +85 °C.
