The KL3351 is a high-resolution single resistor bridge sensor signal-handling analog input module and can be employed to service the signals from one resistor bridge sensor. It can service a programmable measurement range of up to -16 mV through to +16 mV and thereby enable it to adapt to a huge variety of load cell and strain gauge situations.

The module is user-programmable with a reference signal voltage (Uref) of ±10 V, allowing precise differential voltage measurement on input terminals. Its internal bridge supply eliminates the need for external excitation, reducing system sophistication and ease of setup. The KL3351 offers programmable conversion time of less than 250 milliseconds and is therefore most suitable for those applications where both speed and precision are demanded. Its own sampling frequency of the signal can also be programmed and defaults to 50 Hz so that performance can be controlled by the engineer in accordance with the type of signal being sensed. A bridge supply internal feature of the KL3351 provides a stable excitation voltage to the sensor, minimizing measurement drift and overall stability. The architecture of the module's signal processing gives low noise and high fidelity signal in even electrically stressful environments. Tough and compact, the KL3351 will fill space-constrained panel applications and enable space-constrained but high-performance analog input requirements.
