Product Description:

The KL3202 bus terminal from Beckhoff works by monitoring temperature or resistance levels in industrial automation setups. Beckhoff is famous for constructing a variety of advanced and high-class motor technologies for industrial control.

The KL3202 bus terminal functions for temperature and resistance measurement in industrial applications. It supports two input channels and connects to the system via the K-bus by drawing its power supply directly from it without requiring additional power contacts. It is compatible with a wide range of resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) and resistance sensors, including Pt100 to Pt1000 and Ni100 to 1000. It accommodates both 2-wire and 3-wire connections with the 3-wire set as the default mode. The measuring ranges for Pt and Ni sensors are -200 to +850°C and -60 to +250°C. The device operates with a measuring current of 0.5 mA and provides a resolution of 0.1°C per digit which aids in ensuring detailed signal representation. The internal signal processing time per measurement is approximately 250 milliseconds. It provides reliable signal isolation with a 500 V separation between the K-bus and signal voltage.

The KL3202 bus terminal’s input data is mapped as 2 x 16-bit values in the process image with optional 8-bit control and status data. It features automatic open-circuit detection by improving operational safety. Configuration is managed via the associated Bus Coupler or controller by eliminating the need for manual address setting. Its current consumption of 60 mA from the K-bus and weighs around 70 grams. It is built with resistance to vibration and shock according to EN 60068-2-6 standard and works effectively in setups with up to 95% humidity provided there is no condensation.
