Beckhoff’s KL3182 is an accurate analog input terminal that can simultaneously process signals over a wide voltage range. In particular, this bus terminal incorporates two channels along with a powerful set of status LEDs over a single housing. The common-mode voltage range supported by this two-channel analog input terminal is between -10 V and 10 V. Similar to other Beckhoff input terminals, the KL3182 employs electrical isolation and provides an internal ground or common node. For electrical devices and systems, the common electrode allows the device to dissipate excessive current back to the ground instead of traveling to other contact points such as fingers or other conductors.
As part of Beckhoff’s KL product line, the KL3182 has a configurable conversion time of up to 140 ms. At most, the module can process signals at a maximum resolution of 16 bits. During operation, the KL3182 supplies power to its electronic components via the K-bus, which draws a typical current of 85 mA. The input signal for this multi-channel terminal can range between -2 and 2 V. Due to its compact construction, this device can effectively dissipate heat during operation via natural convection. As opposed to fan-cooled devices, naturally cooled modules weigh less and are typically easier to install.
As an electrical module manufactured by Beckhoff, the KL3182 complies with the following product standards: ATEX, CE, EAC, cULus, and UKCA. Like other terminals by Beckhoff, this unit can safely be stored at an environment having an ambient temperature between -25 and 85 degrees Celsius.
