Product Description:

The KL3122 Bus Terminal is designed to handle standard current signals ranging from 4 to 20 mA. It digitizes the signal with up to 16 bit resolution and transmits data in an electrically isolated form to automation systems. This compact module supports two input channels and integrates seamlessly with the K bus for efficient data transfer.

The KL3122 bus terminal features differential input technology with internal grounding that offers precise and interference resistant measurements. Each input channel includes a 50 Ω shunt resistor and the typical load resistance is 60 Ω plus diode voltage. The module supports a maximum common mode voltage of 35 V that ensures robust operation under varied field conditions. Conversion time of the terminal is 140 ms by default but can be configured down to 2 ms for faster response needs. The input filter of the terminal is set at 50 Hz but can also be adjusted as required. The resolution is set to 15 bit by default and users can configure it to 16 bit for higher precision. Measurement uncertainty is less than ± 0.3 % relative to the full scale value that allows accurate signal representation. The unit automatically detects open lead or overload conditions and communicates status via the K bus. LED indicators assist in diagnostics; run LEDs show data exchange while error LEDs highlight overload conditions.

The Beckhoff KL3122 bus terminal operates without the need for address or additional configuration settings which simplifies installation. This bus terminal draws power directly from the K bus. The terminal is lightweight yet sturdy with a weight of approximately 70 grams. It withstands storage temperatures ranging from – 25 °C to + 85 °C.
