The KL3044 is an analog input terminal produced by Beckhoff within the KL Analog Input Modules series. Installed on a standard I/O node, the component translates field-level current-loop signals into digital values that a PLC can process, allowing distributed pressure, flow, and temperature sensors to be monitored through the control system. By occupying a single position on the bus coupler, the terminal conserves panel space while maintaining the signal fidelity required for industrial automation.
The module digitizes each channel within 2 ms, providing a conversion rate suitable for medium-speed control loops that require near-real-time feedback. Its converter provides 12-bit resolution, dividing the process signal span into 4,096 quantization steps and supporting precise measurement changes. The input circuit accepts a calibrated range of 4–20 mA, allowing compatible current-loop sensors to connect without additional shunt resistors. Each measuring path has an input impedance of 80 Ω, which limits the voltage drop across two-wire transmitters while preventing excessive loading of the signal source.
