Product Description:
The KL3012-0011 is a two-channel analog input module from Beckhoff that belongs to the KL Analog Input Modules series. Mounted on a DIN rail inside a Beckhoff Bus Terminal system, it digitizes process currents so a controller can monitor sensors and transducers without separate signal conditioners. The module draws system power from the K-bus and forwards field power through its power contacts, letting it fit into compact, distributed I/O stations for industrial automation.
The differential front end tolerates a common-mode potential of 35 V, so grounded and ungrounded sources can be mixed on the same terminal strip. Each channel provides 2 x 16-bit data words, giving the controller status and value information beyond the conversion result. Bus-side consumption is limited to 60 mA from the K-bus, which is important when many terminals share the same supply segment. Process signals up to 21.5 mA are accepted, and the integrated converter resolves them to 12 bit, providing 4096 quantization steps for closed-loop tasks that need moderate accuracy. Two independent inputs allow separate current loops to be monitored, and the K-bus power supply eliminates the need for extra terminal blocks.
The enclosure depth is 68 mm, so the terminal fits shallow control cabinets while still housing the required signal conditioning circuitry. Power contacts are rated for 10 A, which means the I/O segment can carry actuator loads downstream without additional feed modules. The housing carries an IP20 rating, restricting use to clean, non-condensing enclosures while protecting against contact with standard test fingers. It resists surge voltages up to 35 V DC and stands 100 mm high to align with adjacent Beckhoff terminals. A width of 12 mm keeps rack density high, allowing large channel counts on limited rail space.
