KL2828 is a Beckhoff bus terminal with 8 digital output channels. The terminal provides an isolated interface between process level actuators and automation devices. Outputs on the device are protected against short circuits and polarity reversal. This bus terminal can deliver 2 Amps per output channel. Each output consists of one signal output and a zero volt line. The signal status for each output channel is displayed on light emitting diodes (LEDs). Power contacts operating at 24 Volts feed the output channels on the terminal. A plug-in technique allows connection of conductors without the use of tools. The KL2828 terminal can deliver a maximum output of 10 Amps. Each output on the bus terminal uses 2-wire connections. The nominal voltage is 24 Volts DC. Load types that operators can connect to the unit include capacitive, inductive, and resistive.
The typical short-circuit current is less than 40 Amps. The specified breaking energy is less than 1.2 Joules per channel. Approximately 500 Volts of electrical isolation is provided by the terminal.
