Product Description:
The KL2784 Bus Terminal is developed by Beckhoff. It connects input and output signals from sensors, actuators or machines to a fieldbus system or PLC and it is relatively energy efficient.
The KL2784 bus terminal has a strong protection between internal logic and field-side wiring which reduces the risk of signal interference or component damage. It can tolerate short surges during switching events up to 50 amperes for 10 ms. It communicates 4 output bits to the controller which represents 4 discrete output channels. It provides solid state switching that mimics relay behavior but offers faster, quieter and more durable operation. There are 4 independent output channels and each is capable of closing a circuit. To store the module in a place the temperature of the environment must be between -25 and 85 centigrade. Each output can drive a load drawing up to 2 amps which is suitable for light actuators or indicator loads. It has relatively slower turn off time typically 30 ms or maximum 50 ms which may be due to load type or protection features. It can withstand a maximum voltage of 80 volts before insulation fails.
The KL Analog series module has a very lower resistance of 0.03 ohms in closed state which allows efficient current flow with minimal voltage drop. It comes with typically 1.8 and max 5 ms of switching on speed which is suitable for applications requiring timely control. It supports both AC and DC output loads within 0…30 V AC/DC range which makes it ideal for flexible industrial automation applications in mixed voltage environments. It lacks built in protection against shorts due to which external fusing or design precautions are necessary.
