Product Description:
Beckhoff provides the KL2732 Bus Terminal for standard AC load control in industrial automation applications. This Terminal applies two-wire connection technology. It offers two make contact outputs without power contacts. The two outputs are interlocked such that one cannot short-circuit. The terminal does not need any address or settings for configuration.
One of the unique properties of the KL2732 terminal is reversing motors. This function is applicable for use in blinds or shutters. The terminal needs no current consumption from the power contacts. It consumes a typical A of 10 mA off the K bus. The process image has a bit width of two outputs. These outputs can also be controlled separately by the controller. The terminal provides a rotating field frequency of 47-63 Hz. It can handle a peak current of 40 A for 16 msec. It also supports 3A peak current for 30 seconds. The KL2732 terminal has its standard switch-off time defined as T /2. The weight of the terminal is estimated to be 55 grams. The output has a residual voltage of a maximum of 1.5 V. Nominal voltage for operation will be between 12 V AC to 230 V AC.
The KL2732 terminal is suitable for ohmic and inductive load types of control. The maximum current of output per channel is given at 1 A. 0.8 mA is typically the leakage current at the OFF state. The leakage current is not more than 1.5 mA per channel. The terminal has surge voltage protection over 275 V AC. It offers 500 V electrical isolation between the K bus and field voltage. The dielectric strength is rated at 3750 V AC for one minute. This terminal is applicable for switching AC loads in an industrial system.
Frequently Asked Questions about KL2732:
Q: How does KL2732 prevent output short-circuiting issues?
A: KL2732 Bus Terminal by Beckhoff uses interlocked outputs. This design prevents short-circuit conditions between both channels.
Q: How does KL2732 handle fast peak current demands?
A: KL2732 Bus Terminal by Beckhoff manages 40 A peak current for 16 msec. This supports high inrush load switching demands.
Q: What role does surge voltage protection play in KL2732?
A: KL2732 Bus Terminal by Beckhoff includes 275 V AC surge protection. This prevents voltage spikes from damaging connected equipment.
Q: Why does KL2732 offer separate channel control capability?
A: KL2732 Bus Terminal by Beckhoff allows independent channel control. This supports flexible switching operations in industrial systems.
Q: How does KL2732 manage residual voltage at output?
A: KL2732 Bus Terminal by Beckhoff limits residual output voltage to 1.5 V. This minimizes unintended voltage presence when switching off.
