The KL2631 terminal module can handle both AC and DC power and fits into a modular system. It is created by Beckhoff which a leader in electrical and mechanical design products for industrial automation use.

The KL2631 terminal module works by using DIN rail installation. It provides one output channel using a make contact for power contact applications. The terminal is suitable for switching both AC and DC voltages with a nominal voltage rating of 400 V AC or 300 V DC. In DC operation, the switching capacity is rated at 0.15 A at 300 V and 5 A at 24 V for non-linear loads. It supports a maximum switching capacity of 1500 VA. It is capable of handling various load types by including ohmic, inductive and lamp loads. It fits into a 35 mm DIN rail as per EN 60715 standards and features a compact polycarbonate housing measuring 12 mm wide, 100 mm high and 68 mm deep. It supports a current load of up to 10 A through its power contacts and includes CE and DNV GL approvals.

The KL2631 terminal module uses 2 A of maximum current. It creates a protected electrical barrier between the K-bus and the equipment even when they hold at least 500 V. The K-bus takes 80 mA power but it sends electrical energy to the load through its power contacts alone. The terminal is rated for a minimum of 10 million operating cycles with an electrical operating life of 130,000 cycles at 2 A and 250 V AC. The signal interface includes two output bits in the process image for simplified system installation.
