Product Description:

Beckhoff's KL2552 bus terminal is a two-channel motion interface that lets two DC motors work directly with each other. Beckhoff is known for making automation solutions that work well with control systems. The bus terminal helps industrial automation tasks that need accurate and reliable motor control.

The KL2552 bus terminal has two different lines that can be used to connect DC motors directly using compact drive technology. On each channel, there is one end position and one encoder input. This makes it easy to get feedback and track positions. It also has one output from a DC engine. It can work with a power source range of 8 to 48 V DC from the outside and a 24 V DC input voltage for electronics. There are protections in place to keep the output stage safe from both too much heat and a short circuit. Two 5A outputs are the most current that can be sent out by both lines. At the bus stop, you can find up to 16 bits of speed information and 10 bits of current information. To use the encoder in single-ended mode, the current must be 5 mA, and the voltage must be between 5 and 24 V DC. The terminal can handle a maximum pulse frequency of 400,000 steps per second through a 4-fold review. This means it can be used for high-speed feedback tasks.

The KL2552 is designed for installation on a 35 mm DIN rail and allows for side-by-side installation using a double slot and key connection. The housing is constructed from polycarbonate and has dimensions of 24 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm. The K-bus and field potential are electrically isolated by 500 V. The terminal is compliant with EMC and vibration standards and has been approved by CE and UL.

Frequently Asked Questions about KL2552:

Q: How does KL2552 handle encoder feedback signals?

A: The bus terminal accepts single-ended encoder input signals from 5 to 24 V DC at a typical 5 mA. It supports up to 400,000 increments per second for precise feedback.

Q: Why is KL2552 galvanically isolated from the K-bus?

A: Galvanic isolation between the K-bus and field potential protects the control system from electrical disturbances and ensures signal integrity.

Q: Does KL2552 require an external power supply for motors?

A: The bus terminal requires an external supply voltage of 8 to 48 V DC for motor power. The electronics are powered by 24 V DC via power contacts.

Q: How do status LEDs on KL2552 assist diagnostics?

A: Status LEDs indicate the signal state of each channel. They enable quick local diagnostics and help identify operational or fault conditions.

Q: Why does KL2552 offer a high pulse frequency for encoders?

A: A maximum pulse frequency of 400,000 increments per second enables the bus terminal to support high-speed feedback and precise motor position control.
