The KL2545 Bus Terminal offers a 2 channel PWM output for current controlled operation. It handles voltages from 8 to 50 V DC and a maximum current of 3.5 A per channel. The module is designed for precise automation control with galvanic isolation and diagnostic LEDs.
The Beckhoff KL2545 bus terminal controls output current using pulse width modulation of the supply voltage. It is isolated from the K bus by 500 V and ensures safety against overloads and short circuits. The output is specified through a 16 bit value from the automation device. It supports two channels each capable of delivering ± 3.5 A current for inductive loads such as valves and coils over 1 mH. The terminal operates with a PWM clock frequency of 36 kHz and offers a duty cycle between 0 and 100 % that provides accurate current control. The maximum resolution for output adjustment is 12 bits to ensure fine precision in application. The current consumption from power contacts is approximately 30 mA plus the load while the K-bus consumption is typically 100 mA. LEDs on each channel of the terminal provide clear status indication for load conditions and wiring faults.
