The KL2541-0050 Bus Terminal is a compact motion interface for stepper motors. It supports medium-performance motor applications and offers quiet precise operation. The terminal provides a cost effective solution for small servo axis systems.
The KL2541-0050 Bus Terminal from Beckhoff provides a single output channel for direct connection to a stepper motor. It integrates an incremental encoder input for precise position feedback and supports two digital inputs for end position detection. The terminal delivers a supply voltage of 24 V DC to the internal electronics and accepts a motor power supply voltage ranging from 8 V DC to 48 V DC. The device allows closed loop control via encoder feedback and is capable of delivering phase currents up to 5 A. Communication with the control system is handled through the standard K-bus. The model supports adjustable motor parameters such as current reduction at standstill, step resolution scaling, and limit switch monitoring for enhanced operational safety and motor protection. The output current of the model reaches a maximum of 5.0 A. The encoder supply is 24 V DC. The current controller frequency is approximately 25 kHz. The bus terminal processes input signals at rates up to 400,000 increments per second (400 kHz) and applies fourfold edge evaluation. It detects both rising and falling edges for increased resolution in high speed counting applications.
The KL2541-0050 bus terminal’s power contacts consume approximately 35 mA while the K bus draws around 100 mA.
