A strong analog input module from the KL series, the Beckhoff KL1862-0010 has been optimized for use in industrial automation.
The analog input module connects through flat-ribbon cables, which simplifies installation by minimizing the needed wiring complexity. This device incorporates ground switching technology and has 16 digital input channels, making it ideal for applications that need a lot of digital input signals. Although the unit runs on 24 V DC power, it can still work dependably when the supply voltage is between -15% and +20% of its normal level. The function of the input signals becomes evident since a “0” signal covers 18 to 30 V and a “1” signal operates within a 0 to 7 V range. The 3.0 millisecond typical input filters present on each channel work to minimize signal noise while maintaining the stability of recorded values.
The module demonstrates a typical input current consumption of 3 mA that uses a minimal amount of power which requiring 3 mA from the K-bus and 4 mA from the 24 V supply. The system requires no power contacts because this feature optimizes the installation procedure. Since the module has 16 input channels, its data communication system uses 16 bits to send information for each process picture. The KL1862-0010 module exists as a small and lightweight unit that measures 12mm x 100mm x 73mm and weighs 50 grams.
