Beckhoff Automation has been an internationally renowned producer of problem-solving automation devices. Over the last five decades, the company has developed a production process that allows it to consistently produce millions of cost-efficient automation devices every year. The KL1814 is another one of Beckhoff Automation production; it is a Bus terminal that combines past experiences with new-generation technology to produce a terminal that receives binary 24-volts control signals from process controllers and the carries these signals to high-level automation devices that require them. The input signal is electrically isolated through the entire transfer process. The KL1814 is equipped with up to four channel through which input signals can be supplied; each of these channels has an LED to help operators easily determine connection status. The connection points on this product are up to 16, and they are installed on a 12-millimetre terminal block, forming one of the highest packing densities in Bus Terminal products.

The KL1814 is equipped with an input filter; it also operates with an input current of approximately 3 milliamperes. The current consumed by the K bus of this product is 10 milliamperes; its power contacts also operate with a 1 milliampere plus the typical load of the unit. The bit width in the process image is 4, and its approximate weight is also estimated to be about 60 grams.

The design of this unit allows it to function optimally in ambient temperature that falls between 0 to 55 degrees. Storage temperature recommended for the unit is also between -25 to 85 degrees Celsius. Condensation around this product should not be allowed; relative humidity level should also be maintained below 95 per cent. The protection category of this unit is about IP20.
