Product Description:
The KL1712 is a new automation technology produced by Beckhoff Automation to handle binary control signals, process level controls and transfer these signals to automation devices in an electrically isolated form. This product is classified as an IP20 product; it features two main digital input channels, each of which comes with Light Emitting Didoes that indicate signal status. The housing of this unit is extremely compact, which makes it perfect for customers who require the product for an operational environment with limited spacing for installation. Apart from the input channel, this unit features a mains voltage interface through which it can receive up to 120 volts of voltage from the power supply unit. The typical “0” signal voltage used by this product during operation is between 0 to 40 volts, while the signal voltage between 80 to 140 volts is considered a “1” signal.
The KL1712 input terminal requires proper grounding before its operation; there are two power contacts for the protective earth connection on this unit. Contact with highly insulated materials like synthetic fibers and plastic films should also be avoided when using this product. The only approved installation for this unit is on 35 millimeters mounting rails that are commercially available. Multiple units of this product can be installed together without a problem; in this case, each terminal is secured by a lock on the mounting rail. This lock must be released for disassembly.
The KL1712 has gone through several vibration and shock tests before it is approved for delivery. It can withstand vibrations at frequencies less than 60 hertz over a displacement of 0.35 millimeters. This product also offers customers a broad range of connection options which allows for easy adaptations to several applications.
