Product Description:
Beckhoff engineered KL1418 Bus Terminal for industrial automation tasks. It is an 8-channel PNP configuration output module. The terminal has a 24 V DC of rated operating voltage with an input between 20.4 V to 28.8 V. Each channel allows up to 2 A output, and in total, for all channels it is 8 A.
Switching performance of KL1418 Bus Terminal has a turn-on and turn-off delay of ≤1 ms. It can support a maximum switching frequency of 100 Hz for resistive loads. Protection features are automatic short-circuit recovery and reverse polarity protection on the supply input. It also has a thermal shutdown feature during overtemperature conditions. It draws a standard 100 mA of power from the E-bus. The terminal employs spring-clamp technology for one-wire terminations. The KL1418 Bus Terminal is integrated into systems through 8-bit process data mapping per cycle. It accommodates solid wires of 0.08 mm² to 2.5 mm², stranded wires of 0.25 mm² to 2.5 mm², and ferrules of 0.14 mm² to 1.5 mm². The terminal weight is approximately 100 grams. It is constructed for use at operating temperatures between 0°C and +55°C and for storage temperatures from -25°C to +85°C. The enclosure is in accordance with the IP20 protection rating.
Every channel of the KL1418 Bus Terminal comes with diagnostic LEDs. Active outputs are marked with green LEDs, and faults like overloads or short circuits by red LEDs. The product is CE and UL certified as well as ATEX approved for hazardous areas and DNV GL certified for the marine environment. The terminal accepts an inrush current of 3 A per channel for 100 ms at a maximum. The terminal features 500 V electrical isolation between the field side and the bus system.
