Product Description:
The KL1232 Input Terminal is made for industrial automation tasks. It is made by Beckhoff with a focus on efficiency and performance. It is perfect for industrial connection systems that require stable power inputs.
The KL1232 input terminal has an input filter of 0.2 ms which represents a filtering delay of 0.2 milliseconds to debounce or smooth out noisy signals. The terminal meets electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards for electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical bursts. The module each input typically draws about 5 milliamperes when activated. It communicates with the controller using 2 input bits in the process image (memory map) which corresponds to the 2 physical input channels. For vibration and shock it complies with IEC 68-2-6 / IEC 68-2-27 which makes it suitable to operate in environments with the presence of mechanical stress. The module has two digital input channels and each one can independently read a binary signal (on/off). An input is recognized as "ON" (logic high) if the voltage is between 15 and 30 volts and it weights around 55 grams which helps in mounting without heavy duty supports. If the voltage is within -3 V ... 5 V the input is recognized as OFF which includes a slight tolerance for negative voltages.
The KL Analog Input Modules series module can be stored safely in environments ranging from cold to quite hot which is helpful for logistics and warehousing. It can extend short pulses to a set length (10, 20 or 100 milliseconds) which ensures that brief signals are long enough to be detected reliably by slower systems. The module provides flexibility in mounting within control cabinets. and it can be installed in any orientation.
