Product Description:
The KL1104 is a four-channel input terminal produced by Beckhoff and assigned to the KL Bus Terminal series. As an I/O component for Bus Terminal systems, it collects discrete sensor or switch states and passes them to the controller process image for use in machinery, material handling lines, and building automation panels. This makes it suitable for reading pushbuttons, limit switches, proximity sensors, and other on/off field signals that need clear status transfer to the control logic. Its variable installation position and slim housing allow dense packing on the backplane while preserving access to field wiring and status indication.
The terminal operates from a 24 V DC supply, and the integrated power contacts are rated for 10 A, so adjacent modules can share power without separate feeders. Field devices can be wired with a 2- or 3-wire connection method, and a +24 V and 0 V sensor supply rail is available for powered transducers. This arrangement allows nearby sensors to receive power directly through the terminal structure and helps keep control cabinet wiring compact. Each channel meets EN 61131-2 Type 1 input behavior and uses 4 input bits in the controller image for straightforward software mapping. Connections are made through spring terminals actuated by screwdriver and accept solid, flexible, or ferruled conductors, while the housing measures 12 x 100 x 68 mm to keep cabinet depth low. The enclosure has an IP20 rating for finger-safe protection inside a control cabinet.
The module snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail to EN 60715 for mounting in standard control cabinets. This mounting format keeps the terminal aligned with neighboring modules and supports orderly installation on the backplane assembly. Status indication is provided by 4 green LEDs, with one LED assigned to each input channel so signal presence can be checked directly at the terminal. The housing is made of Polycarbonate, which provides electrical insulation and dimensional stability, and the spring-loaded terminals maintain steady contact force over time.
