Product Description:
The Beckhoff FC7502.1 is a high-speed SERCOS II Lightbus board in the FC Lightbus Card Series that easily integrates with the needs of process automation systems requiring fast and coordinated process data transfer. The board is PCI compatible and has two additional parallel fieldbus channels to enhance and manage data and networks. It also offers a wide range of data transmission rates i.e., between 2 Mbaud and 16 Mbaud and thus suits applications where real-time control is a necessity in rugged environmental conditions.
Using 4 FSMA connectors (per IEC 874-2), with the fiber-optic FC7502.1, such cable systems can be deployed to transmit encrypted content as they are immune to electric shocks which are common in factories. The card provides for hardware communication faults diagnostics with 1 LED per channel, to enable keeping track of the channel’s communication state. Synchronous transmissions of process data are supported, which allows hardware devices to be adequately coordinated during execution of the processes.
It’s important to note that the FC7502.1 allows for SERCOS device data handling that gets well synchronized with TwinCAT through its special encompasses. The card provides for cyclical times that can be as short as 62.5 µs, which is well suited for quickly passing information. It is also possible through the use of a ribbon cable to synchronize many cards which makes it possible to have many fieldbus cards integrated in one system. The FC7502.1 makes it possible to connect up to two hundred and fifty-four managed network devices which includes the axes and the I/O modules such as Bus Terminals with Bus Coupler BK7500. It can indeed perform any I/O data assignment, of any data length and bus control including Master mode (which is software configured), hence ideal for complex automation.
