The ES5151 EtherCAT terminal is designed for precision encoder applications and it is developed by Beckhoff for accurate motion and signal control. It is small and weighs approximately 50 grams. It can be integrated easily into EtherCAT I/O systems.
The ES5151 EtherCAT terminal supports one encoder input channel and the connection uses A, B, and C signals at 24 V DC. It is a single-ended connection type defined by EN 61131-2 type 1. An additional input is included for latch or gate functionality. This input operates at 24 V DC for trigger-based control. The terminal has a counter that is 16 or 32-bit switchable.
