The Beckhoff ES5002 EtherCAT Terminal provides dual connection capabilities through its two operating channels for encoder installations.
The terminal allows dual encoder connections through a differential signal interface (D+, D-, Cl+, Cl-) that validates various types of encoder operation. The terminal accepts external encoder operating voltage through the EL91xx series, allowing users to select their preferred power supply. The ES5002 includes support for distributed clocks, which allows it to achieve precise time alignment with all EtherCAT devices present in the network. RS422 difference signals link both input and output signals to deliver reliable data transmission over extensive distances the way high-accuracy systems require. Industrial power systems supply power to the terminal through their 24 V DC power contacts for standard operation. The terminal supports adjustable data transfer speeds ranging from 250 kHz up to 1 MHz for processing-intensive applications. This terminal supports serial input configurations up to 32 bits while operating with 24 bits as default to process diverse encoder data types.
